Before and After

When we started Safe Now Rescue and Foster we fostered dogs for other rescues.  After seeing how many dogs need rescuing, we started our own rescue.  Many dogs end up in shelters because they are not trained properly or simply not trained at all.  Due to their poor behavior, they’re then left at the shelter.  Some dogs are out wandering, picked up and brought to a shelter but are then not reclaimed by the owners who failed to take proper care of them.  Some of the dogs have very sad stories, or a traumatic past.  Here are some of the dogs who truly NEEDED to be rescued.

Holly and Noel were dumped in the country on a very cold, wet day a few weeks before Christmas. They had very little socialization and virtually no training.  They both ended up with wonderful families…

Faith (now Levee) was a puppy we fostered for All Herding Breed Dog Rescue.  So young and obviously starving. She was lucky to land in the arms of a wonderful couple who will be sure she never has to worry about that again.

Bella was an 8 year old German Shepherd.  Her owner passed away and she was in her crate.  It was days before they were found. Bella had infected eyes, infected anal glands, pressure sores on her hips and sores on her paws. She was filthy and scared.  She ended up with a wonderful man who had recently lost his German Shepherd – almost to the day that Bella had lost her owner.  They have healed each others’ hearts.

Aubrey was just a baby when she was left at a high intake shelter that euthanizes when they need the space (which is too often due to the outrageous number of dogs that are brought to them.)  Aubrey had a bad case of mange and secondary skin infections along with ear infections-most likely due to the ticks deep in both ear canals.  With time and care Aubrey has made a remarkable recovery.  Here for 8 months, it was hard to say goodbye to Aubrey, but her new mom is just amazing and Aubrey has the perfect mom and perfect home-which is just what she deserves!
